Theme of the Month: Getting Social
We love the balance of individual attention and socialization that CozyKin Nanny Shares provide. Ensuring the little ones in our care have a BFF to interact with on a daily basis isn’t just for fun—it’s an important developmental tool. Interacting with others at a very young age builds social skills and confidence. Socialization not only helps your little one develop their sense of self, but helps them learn what others expect from them.
Every day, CozyKin Nannies get to witness this important—and adorable!—socialization so we wanted to share some examples that they’ve shared with us that make us smile and remember why we do what we do.
Nichole: “Neighborhood meet ups are great because they get more buddies. When there are two little ones who are always together, they get to know each other so well and can get wild with each other—they know how to play. It’s fun to see them interact with other kids and navigate new ways of playing.”
Jessica: “It’s adorable to see how much the two little girls care for each other. One is now walking and if the other girl is crying, she’ll run over and put the pacifier in her mouth and then pat her back to make her feel better.”
Enna: “Both babies just laugh and laugh and giggle at each other. They can’t stop staring at each other sometimes. It’s really cute.”
Hana: “My favorite moment is when they look at each other during tummy time. They just take each other in.”
Imari: “ The little ones in my share are definitely BFFs. The one-year-old will crawl to the other side of the room and the 6th-month-old will start crying until he gets near her again. And then she smiles and crawls away again. It’s a game.”
We want to hear from you! What’s your favorite socialization moment you’ve seen between your little one and their BFF? We have CozyKin beanies ready to send to anyone who shares with us.

Trust & Safety
SAFETY WARNING issued for Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has called on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to issue an immediate recall for the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper, which has been tied to multiple sleep-related infant deaths.
We know this sleeper is quite popular and many of our families use it, which is why we have notified all of our CozyKin Families and Nannies.
The World of Matching
We take great pride in our CozyKin Nanny Share model and know that one of the key elements to its success is built-in socialization for your little one. That’s why matching is an essential element of our process. So how does this mysterious world of matching work? How do we find families and connect them with each other?
Sometimes, in order to start care when needed, we have to start families with a private nanny while we continue to look for a match family (and their little one’s BFF). While this isn’t ideal, it’s helped families return to work knowing their little one is in great hands. While care starts, the matching process doesn’t. We continue to work hard to find the right match family. And if for any reason you become unmatched during your time at CozyKin, we start the matching process again.
Creating a supportive community is incredibly important to us here at CozyKin. For those who have referred a friend to us, we couldn’t thank you enough! Thank you for helping build our community. We can't wait to welcome your referrals into the fold!
If you haven’t yet referred a friend to CozyKin, but would like to, please direct them to our Refer-a-Friend page where they can learn more about CozyKin and schedule a call with our team. As a thank you, each of you will receive a referral credit!
Getting Social with Baby Sign Language
During our last training event for CozyKin Nannies, we taught a session on Baby Sign Language that was a hit. The nannies were so excited to take what they’ve learned into their shares and we’ve heard some great feedback both from them and you on how the little ones are taking to signing.
Baby Sign Language is a great way to start early communication with your little ones! They can start to understand signs from you and your nanny as early as 4 months old and can usually start to sign back around 7 to 9 months old. To help you get started, we’ve put together a one sheet with some of the signs we’ve found to be more helpful when starting out. Talk with your nanny about what signs they’re using during the day and try to reinforce them with your little one. It’s so fun when they really start communicating! Happy signing!
